Andy Richards - Head Coach
Coach Andy Richards has been the head coach of Virginia Tech Men's rugby team since December 2009. He previously coached at UNC-Chapel Hill, the Raleigh Vipers, the North Carolina Collegiate All Stars, University of Maryland - Baltimore Country, and Baltimore-Chesapeake. He moved to the United States from England in 2002. Richards first played rugby when he was twelve years old and attained representative honors for school and district. He played and coached throughout twenty-three years service in the British Army and represented his regiment, corps and army teams. He also played and coached for Barnstaple RFC in North Devon. Coach Richards received a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and Classical Studies from the Open University. His wife Melissa is the Director of Marketing and Publications, and his son Adam is a freshmen at Virginia Tech.
Mark Seiss - Varsity Team Coach
Mark Seiss was a player at Virginia Tech from 1999 to 2004. He represented the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate All-Star team and was an All-American Honorable mention in 2004. In 2008 he joined the coaching staff at Virginia Tech whilst studying for his Phd. In 2010 he represented The Philippine National Seven's team at the Shanghai's Seven's tournament in China. Mark is finishing his Phd at Virginia Tech but will hopefully be available to coach for the next 18 months.
